One of the things I have looked yet but am yet to post is my research on surrealism. I conducted this research for another project but it seems it could be useful for subversion as well. I have looked at a range of different articles starting with Breton's Manifesto of Surrealism.

It seems that surrealism is particularly subversive based on the fundamental ideas behind it. For example, they chose to disregard all traditional methods of creating work and adopted experimental methods instead; such as, attempting to unconscious thought to create work. Even after research, I am still not 100% sure how they do this. These methods are debated as well as many other practitioners have begun to question their ideas.

I have included the annotated pages below. There were a lot of image examples in some of the articles. I didn't agree with everything said in one article in particular and I did decide that maybe looking at surrealists graphic designers wasn't the best idea as the other subversive designers I have looked at are much more out there. However, I do think using some of the surrealist ways of thinking could be useful to me in this project.
