I was considering as an initial experiment reworking some poster designs for a few Neo-Noir films. This was so I could start using the research I had conducted already and create visuals based on the female characters' specific representations in these films.
I selected four films that I had already thought about when reading literature on the subject area. I considered how the negative representations could be present visually concerning the story in question. When I began drawing these ideas, I started more detailed but realised as I went through each one that they were only quick thumbnails, and as long as I understood where I was taking the design, it didn't matter how neat and tidy they looked. This helped me work through the ideas faster.

Now I need to consider how I want to design these. Many movie posters involve images of the cast alongside graphics; however, I am not currently able to take photographs that I could use for this (due to lockdown restrictions), so I will have to approach the creation via another method. I am considering illustration as a medium to solve this. My personal preference is much simpler designs and graphics, although I may consider a more decorative approach.
