Beginning in October 2020, I began to research areas that could be subjects of focus for my Masters Major Project. These areas included subjects such as 'the reputation of women', in either art history or in advertising, or surrealism and its applications in film. From further research, however, I chose to focus on a genre of film known as Film Noir and it's following, more contemporary, genres such as Neo-Noir. I decided to combine my previous research on the representation of women within the genre and the keys names within the discussion. As I have now submitted a proposal for the project, I have decided to compile all the research already conducted so it is easily accessible if I want to refer back to it.

I have created a Padlet including included the responses of different authors to themes I have identified in my research. I have included a bibliography of references at the bottom of the page.

When collecting this research I have been considering ways in which I could respond to some of what has been said in a visual way. The notes I have made are included below. I want to make sure that what I create results in positive work rather than just pointing out negatives. Need to consider this as I create.
