After changing my plans for the project, on more than one occasion, I have been focusing on responding to my research. The visual research I have conducted has helped me to respond to the ideas and brainstorms I have done on subversion and creativity using subversive methods other designers have used. When it came to research on reflective practice I was unsure what to do. I have incorporated techniques as a result of my research on Flow, but these are more general to my practice rather than specific to reflective practice.
I decided, after an idea I had when reading about creative practice, to write a creative writing piece as a method of reflection. I wrote the piece when I was researching subversion in more depth and have decided to share it on here.
The story is called 'Subversion is a Paradox' and shows subversion in two lights. How you feel about acts of subversion depend on whether you agree with the same ideologies and world views as the subversive completing the act.
I am not a creative writer by any stretch of the imagination. Writing is not one of my strong suits. I set myself the story task as a way to challenge myself to create something out of my comfort zone. I hope, despite this, it is still interesting to read. The story is included in another post following this one. Hope you enjoy it!
