When looking at New Wave I decided to do some further research on April Greiman in particular. I came across an article about Greiman when I was searching for images from New Wave Designers. I wanted to find out whether there was anything in her practice that was particularly Subversive. My annotations on the article are included below with the reference in the bibliography.

Greiman was known for innovative transmedia and hybrid imagery. With the resources I have transmedia may be a struggle as I don't have as many materials at my disposal as I would like. However, hybrid imagery could be something I could work with. This could be something I could think about with my collage test.

April Greiman was one of the first to embrace designing with computer technology, the way we have it today. She embraced errors and pixelation within her work was not afraid of the advancements in technology that were taking place at the time. Unfortunately for me, I can not attempt to be a first with the technology, as it has been around and improved for decades, but I could back peddle and take more hands-on approach instead, like with the collage.

These are the notes I made on some of her work in a previous post. She adds texture to her work with the 'pixelated' effects, manipulates are typography and layers imagery. In her work for the California Institute of Art it looks like she has experimented with collage as well. I believe her work can be considered subversive, in terms of design practice, due to her methods of creation and experimentation.
